You Decide 2015

Well, it's that time of year again and a chance for you all to show your love and appreciation for my blog by deliberately sending me somewhere for a really miserable time. Last year, it was Frankie & Benny's, and I suppose the one tiny glimmer of relief this year is that the same place can't win twice. But never let it be said that London doesn't have more than its fair share of really desperately awful places to eat, so as ever, my fate is in your hands. I mean you could decide to send me to Le Gavroche or Alyn Williams at the Westbury? Wouldn't that be nice for a change? No? Oh, who am I kidding. Do your worst.

The rules are unchanged from last year:

1. I can't have been to the restaurant before (have a quick Google if you're unsure)

2. It has to be either in London or easily accessible from London

3. Please check the restaurant you want to vote for hasn't already been added before you add it yourself.

EDIT 12:00 on 30/01/15 - votes are closed, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is the winner. Wish me luck.

I voted for "Chicken Cottage" because as a franchise it varies *wildly* across the capital in quality, and you may even accidentally blunder into a half-decent one. Probably not, though :)

The one on Shepherd's Bush Green is certainly far from the worst option when staggering back from the pub on an evening. I've even had it presented to me sober and concluded it wasn't that bad. It's certainly miles better than KFC (but then again, what isn't?)

Taco Bell. I used to live across the road from it, and despite a year's worth of horrendous hangovers, I've never been tempted.

Cosmo in Croydon doesn't exist anymore. It's now called JRC Global Buffet and is equally awful!

Chicken Cottage! The chicken fillet burger is weirdly delicious. And yes, miles better than KFC.

I voted for dans le noir. It should improve your photography no end.

Yet again, you deliberately leave out the penis restaurants.

Wetherspoons would have been amusing, but you might well have had an enjoyable meal for under a tenner.

Chicken Cottage is ok tbh, although i remember having ribs at one in Collier Row and me and my mate couldn't identify the animal. We think they were cat ribs.

So i voted for Taco Bell in Lakeside (Im not so cruel as to send you to the Basildon one), as it would be a soulcrushingly awful fast food meal served on a dirty brown plastic tray and eaten in a central area surrounded by Essex's finest chavs.

Oh, and seriously, don't go to Basildon.

I'm sorry to say I've been to Frankie and Benny's in 2013. It was horrible.

Rodizio Rico, but then I'd feel too guilty sending you there.

Don't think Chicken Cottage should be in the mix, it's cheapo guilty pleasure after-drinks trash, it doesn't pretend to be anything else.

The other strong contender however, Bubba Gumps, would be perfect. It's a proper sit-down restaurant situated in the middle of town charging relatively premium prices; far riper for a trashing... or otherwise.
