That is likely to affect how good the service (and very very rarely the food) is. Who pays for it otherwise, whether partner or boss or parents or client is, I think, completely inconsequential.Chris Poplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02668565800857295023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588051831069283523.post-80172519129443788302012-06-25T19:36:33.897+00:002012-06-25T19:36:33.897+00:00Very disappointed there's no picture of the sm...Very disappointed there's no picture of the smouldering cocktail! I really like Nightjar and have been twice so far. I hate to shamelessly self promote but if anyone is interested and wants to see some cocktail pictures, I have some on my blog. http://ginglelistseverything.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/nightjar-roadtrip-and-russian-bar-21st.html

As Chris points out though, the place is dark so they're not amazingly clear!Ginglesnuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00254189538193183395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588051831069283523.post-24681621287543844252012-06-22T20:12:30.063+00:002012-06-22T20:12:30.063+00:00Chris - do you think you're more or less indep...Chris - do you think you're more or less independent if the meal isn't paid for directly by the restaurant compared to a PR acting on behalf of someone (potentially, as here, not the restaurant)? I had the set lunch so prices were kept somewhat lower. It was some years ago now - 2007 I think - so maybe things have changed. With a new intake each year, I guess quality will go up and down accordingly. That said, as you pointed out, it should be treated the same if you're paying any price, never mind those of a TV chef.Iannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588051831069283523.post-42308249733252443062012-06-19T20:03:24.375+00:002012-06-19T20:03:24.375+00:00What a shame. Then again, the two places are run by separate charities, though on the same lines and both with the Jamie Oliver connection. Perhaps the person in charge of overall quality in the kitchen in Cornwall is far better at their job than his or her counterpart in London.Kaveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16662875905365870280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588051831069283523.post-50043184568629416402012-06-19T15:29:33.433+00:002012-06-19T15:29:33.433+00:00Cuntiness: I couldn't have put it better mysel...Cuntiness: I couldn't have put it better myself.
