In the end, the only thing you actually had a problem with was the ticket price.

You have a responsibility, that's to give a well informed opinion, not a lazy one.

Otherwise keep up the great work. I'm sure the food is exquisite but these high-enders just look stifling and overcooked to me. I'm not looking for some grotto, but a bit of honesty and personality can't be that hard to achieve.Hatchnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588051831069283523.post-3357057923337531562014-07-24T10:17:55.290+00:002014-07-24T10:17:55.290+00:00The Petrus thing is interesting - It's physica...The Petrus thing is interesting - It's physically been three restaurants - the first two under Marcus Wareing, and the heyday was before he issued a general declaration of independence from the Ramsay Group and became 'Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley' instead. That remains very much 2* cooking and I had a fabulous post xmas lunch there a couple of years ago. I was also taken to Petrus back in it's pomp at the Berkeley and they are basically the same place but with a different name.

Ramsay Group kept the Petrus name and opened up the new one a few years back - it's accrued it's own * in that time but never quite lived up to the head chef of it's previous incarnations. I'm sure it's very nice though.

Marcus Wareing, apparently, didn't agree that a chef could look after more than one restaurant to the sort of standards he wanted to maintain, which if true is pretty laudable.Alex Cnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588051831069283523.post-24951631246740461742014-07-22T14:06:55.520+00:002014-07-22T14:06:55.520+00:00is it me or does the plating really look very stuc...is it me or does the plating really look very stuck in the 1980's? Just seems so dated, but not dated enough to be charming.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
